ランチをとりながら谷木先生(慶應大学)が「Artificial ascites, artificial pleural effusion and other techniques in IVO」についてlectureしました。

On March 16 (Saturday), we successfully completed the 5 days long 6th international IVO training program.

In the morning live demonstrations, 3 MWA cases were performed, and a RFA and MWA combination treatment was done in 1 case.

Dr. Taniki (Keio University) gave a luncheon lecture on “Artificial ascites, artificial pleural effusion and other techniques in IVO”.

In the afternoon, case studies were carried out and all participants discussed the two difficult cases presented by students. Then  Dr. Koki Sato presented similar cases actually treated at Juntendo. After taking a break, Professor Shiina gave a lecture on”Overview of IVO (RFA & MWA)”. After that, a post-test was done, and Prof. Shiina gave the answers to the questions at the end.

Finally, the program was completed after Professor Shiina handed over the certificate to the students in the IVO room, and a group photo was taken. From 5:00 pm, everyone moved the place to Marunouchi for the usual Farewell Dinner. Following Prof. Shiina’s greetings, we celebrated the successful completion of the 5-day training program and toasted to the future success of each participant in their home country. We exchanged information about Ablation in Japan and overseas countries, and, in a relaxed mood, we had a conversation that deepened each other’s relationships.

As with the previous domestic and international training programs, the 6th International IVO Training Program, in which 20 doctors from 7 countries participated, was based on three pillars: lectures, live demonstrations, and case studies. These 5 days were also meaningful and a learning experience for us.

We would like to thank the following volunteer doctors who helped us tremendously during this 5 days : Dr. Mikami (National Center for Global Health and Medicine), Dr. Hidaka (Kitasato University, participant of a previous training program), Dr. Wada (Kitasato University , participant of a previous training program), Mr. Komiyama (  Yamanashi University, participant of a previous training program), and Dr. Nakayama (Yamanashi University).
